The smallest electronic circuit that is used to manipulate binary data is called as logic gates. Thus we can say that Logic Gates are the basic building blocks of any electronic circuit. Although, researchers have proposed or developed many different logic gates but the most common are explained here in this chapter. A total of 7 different logic gates are used commonly in electronics. Out of these 7, 4 are basic gates while other 3 are derived ones. All are discussed as under:
